Te Whāriki is a
Ngāi Tahu Property development

Mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei. We drive profit but are purpose driven and live by the values handed to us by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Through excellence in sustainable land use, an inter-generational approach to investment, and a commitment to developing environmentally sensitive new buildings and communities, we ensure that we leave a treasured bequest for future generations of Ngāi Tahu.

Meaning Series

Over the past few months we have shared on our Facebook page the Meaning Series, showing the meaning and pronunciation of every street and neighbourhood in Te Whāriki.

All of the streets and neighbourhoods in Te Whāriki have a special significance carefully selected by Ngāi Tahu Property, Te Taumutu Rūnanga (a representative council) and Lincoln University.

Te Taumutu Rūnanga worked closely with Ngāi Tahu Property to bring to life, through street and reserve names, a number of place, and species names associated with Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere).

We hope you enjoyed the Meaning Series! If you missed them, don’t worry we have developed this handy sheet with all the neighbourhoods and street names included.
